EXCLUSIVE TO PUMP CENTRE MEMBERS
0.5 Hours CPD
Description
In this on-demand webinar, Edward Kinsella and Nick Thompson of Arcadis will be asking the critical question: How much of a maintenance shift is actually spent completing the work?
Hands-on Tools Time (HoTT) provides a structured way to answer that question. It measures the proportion of labour hours spent actively using tools and helps operations and maintenance teams understand the difference between the contracted working day and the time ultimately available for direct work.
Focusing on the UK operations and maintenance environment, this webinar will explore how HoTT can reveal the effects of access, permitting, operational interfaces, enabling activities and unplanned disruption.
Edward Kinsella and Nick Thompson both have years of experience working on safety critical and complex engineering projects within the water industry. Arcadis is a global design, engineering, and consultancy firm that specialises in delivering resilient, sustainable water management solutions across the entire water cycle - from supply and treatment to flood protection and digital, "intelligent" infrastructure.
Key Topics Include:
-
Outlining Hands-on Tools Time (HoTT), what it is and its effect on daily work shifts
-
Discussing productivity data and why it should be interpreted alongside operational and environmental context
-
Explaining how measurement techniques can identify the causes of lost working time
-
Highlighting how optimising HoTT improves asset efficiency, reduces downtime, and delivers measurable ROI for maintenance operations
