With the Young Engineer Awards nominations now open, panel judge and water industry professional Emma Copson outlines the importance of supporting the water sector’s next generation.
Emma Copson has been an engineering professional for over 30 years, with a career in the water industry that has taken her across the globe. She currently works as a Sales Manager for specialist pump manufacturer and industrial service provider Torishima Europe, a company which champions pump innovation, specialised services and customised solutions with an emphasis on sustainability to push the industry forward.
Earlier this year, Emma was elected to the Pump Centre Council; she has since proven herself to be a valued council member. She has embraced her role as an ambassador of the Pump Centre and brought expertise and industry knowledge to the organisation in aid of achieving our goals.
Emma will serve as one of the judges on the panel for the Young Engineers Awards 2026, using her extensive experience within the industry to assess the nominees against a comprehensive criteria to determine each category’s winner. As a water industry professional who has demonstrated passion and commitment to guiding young engineers throughout her career, there are few in this sector better positioned to advise potential nominees of the best practices they should follow through the application process to give them the best chance at being shortlisted.
