Helping Children in Need | The Water Equipment Show 2024

Each year, The Pump Centre selects a charity to raise much needed funds for at The Water Equipment Show awards dinner. This year, the chosen charity was Hope House Children’s Hospices, an organisation dedicated to supporting families with terminally ill children.

Helping Families in Need

Hope House Children’s Hospices helps over 750 families across Shropshire, Cheshire, Powys and North Wales. In the areas they serve, three families face the pain of losing their child every week, and over 3,000 children are living with life-limiting conditions right now.

Hope House and Ty Gobaith care for babies, children and young people who have life-threatening conditions that mean they are unlikely to live beyond 18. They also offer counselling and bereavement support to local families who have suffered the death of a child in any circumstance.

Life Changing Donations

At the awards dinner, Area Fundraiser Dawn Ball took to the stage to give a moving speech about how even the smallest of donations can make a significant difference to the quality of care Hope House can provide for these children and their families.

Dawn shared:

“We are immensely grateful to The Pump Centre and its members for choosing to support Hope House Children’s Hospices at the Water Equipment Show awards dinner.

I thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and was overwhelmed by how welcoming and generous everyone was. The event raised almost £5,000 and helped to inform guests and a wider audience about the vital work that we do.

Our families tell us every day that our Hope House and Ty Gobaith hospices are an absolute lifeline for them. The expert care we provide, thanks to donations such as these, is life-changing. Every single donation means the world to all of us, and we couldn’t be more thankful for the support.

We were also delighted to receive the donation of a signed ski helmet by Eddie The Eagle from The Pump Centre, which we will be auctioning at our upcoming summer ball.”

The Pump Centre would like to extend a massive thank you to all of the attendees and members who donated money in aid of Hope House. An incredible night was had by all.

The Pump Centre team look forward to welcoming you to the next Water Equipment Show in 2025, where the awards dinner will take place on Wednesday 14th May.
