The Pump Centre Council plays a crucial role in shaping the organisation's direction, ensuring it effectively serves its members and the wider UK water industry.
Shaping the Pump Centre's Future
The Council's strength lies in its elected members – individuals who are themselves active participants in the pump industry, and who bring invaluable real-world experience and insights directly to the table.
The decision was made to extend the term for council members to 24 months to allow for greater continuity and enable them to see initiatives through to completion.
This is especially important during pivotal periods like the transition to AMP8 (Assessment Management Period 8), where long-term planning and strategic vision are essential.
Fostering collaboration, the Pump Centre Council brings together some of the organisation's top experts to allow members to share knowledge and work together on industry wide issues and drive innovation from within.
Serving Pump Centre Members
Currently, the council comprises 18 members with approximately half from Water and Sewerage Companies (WaSCs) and the other half from equipment manufacturers and services suppliers. More details about the council can be found on the Pump Centre website.
John Howarth, manager of The Pump Centre, comments:
“The council is integral to the development of the Pump Centre. We’re proud to give our elected members the opportunity to have direct input into the implementation of policy and strategy to grow the organisation. Through the elected members, the Pump Centre gains access to a wealth of talent and expertise, strengthening its ability to support the water industry and drive positive change.”
