Pump Centre Conference
3rd May 2018
International Centre, Telford.
The Pump Centre Conference and Exhibition is being held at Telford International Centre on the Thursday 3rd May 2018. It is now recognised as the leading event of its kind within the UK.
For 2018 the main technical theme is:
Resilience of Pumps and Pumping Systems
Manufacturers and operators have been aware for a long time of the various options to improve the reliability of assets and pumping systems. The importance of delivering reliable and resilient systems has a high profile across industry with more emphasis being applied at the specification and design stages to meet end user requirements. Improved reliability also underpins improved resilience, which has become one of the key targets for many industries including the water industry where Ofwat, the industry regulator, will be introducing regulatory drivers from 2020.
Partnering strategies between contractors, suppliers and operators are focusing more on the implementation and facilitation of approaches to improve the resilience of pumps and pumping systems. There are a number of ways to deliver higher levels of resilience including:
• Innovative and intelligent design
• Smart and good quality maintenance/asset management
• Improved product and system reliability to ensure maximum availability
Opportunities to influence and improve resilience are available at all stages from initial specification and design through to operation and maintenance and throughout the industry supply chain.
